David is officially ALL-AMERICAN!

David competed in the Division III National Track and Field Championships tonight and posted a height of 15’11” which placed him 6th in the nation in polevaulting!  Congratulations, David!  You’ve always been All-American in our hearts!

From the Wheaton College website:

larsonThursday night, senior David Larson, competed in the men’s pole vault at Nationals for the second consecutive year. Larson came into Thursday’s competition with the 12th-best height of the 17 competitors. On Thursday night he posted a career-best height of 15′ 11-1/4″ to finish sixth at Nationals and earn All-American recognition. Larson’s effort on Thursday bested his qualifying height of 15’ 10” that came on May 15. Larson is the first Wheaton pole vaulter to earn Division III All-American honors since Matt Sheehan finished second at the 2004 Division III Championships.

Wheaton Graduation!

Here’s some photos from David’s Wheaton Graduation….we had a GREAT weekend!

Commencement was on Sunday, Mother’s Day, and I thought of 3 John 1:4, which says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”  Indeed, what JOY we experienced together as a family this weekend!

Larson updates…March 09

img_2056_2My baby is 17 today(written 2-27-09)!  Time sure flies by!

Jacob Andrew Larson is an amazingly talented guy…but I guess I am a bit biased!  He’s active in sports (soccer and track are his main focus) and he is also much involved in music, playing the string bass in the high school orchestra, electric bass in the youth praise band and sings in the choir and Austinaires (select show choir) and is a member of the MN All State Men’s Choir!

It has been so long since I have updated this blog, that I’m not sure if I should just start over….since I last wrote, I had surgery to reattach the hamstring tendons and have gone through rehab.  I have regained nearly all my mobility and flexibility, and just have a bit of soreness to deal with.

We have had so much happen in the last year….

WOW….I am going to try to be better at keeping up with this blog, along with all the other stuff of life.  I have started a Bible-reading blog, too.(Click on the link…)  Don’t let the word “blog” scare you!  It is just a website that has the capability for me to write daily updates, and anyone who would like can read it and make comments.
