Seeking Prayer

I have been asked to join a team of men and women to journey with Dr. Jason DeRouchie and Hands to the Plow (HTTP) Ministries to Ethiopia.  I would love you to prayerfully consider supporting me and our team in prayer March 6–16, 2024. We will serve, love, give, and receive, and train around 60 church leaders (in cohorts of 15 or so). I will partner with another woman on our team to help facilitate the training of a cohort of women.

This opportunity is really special for me. As a young girl, I joined my parents, grandparents and other believers in praying for Ethiopia when my aunt went there to serve the Afar people as a single missionary nurse, planting gospel seeds in very hard, dry soil. After years of prayer, I am excited to see firsthand the way God is moving in Ethiopia and beyond.  I am eager to taste and see how the gospel is spreading, the kingdom is advancing, and Christ’s church is growing. Christianity is expanding in Africa more than any other place on earth.

Hands to the Plow seeks to spread the gospel for kingdom advance and church health. Our trip will begin with an extended weekend in southern Ethiopia, staying with 90 orphans and their house mothers. Per capita there are more orphans in Ethiopia than in any other country on the planet. We will worship, eat, play, craft, work with them, and we will share with them good news of Christ’s love. We will then journey to the country’s capital city, Addis Ababa, where we will guide a number of cohorts through a four day workshop, studying the Scriptures and treasuring Christ’s work. Along the way we will visit orphans and widows in their distress, and we will see first hand how God is strengthening his church in this critical region of East Africa.

  • Would you consider joining my prayer team? I will try to post prayer updates from Ethiopia.
  • If you are interested in learning more about the teaching we will do, check out the podcast “Gear Talk Biblical Theology” (hosted by Tom Kelby and Jason DeRouchie)
  • The kids at the orphanage need regular supplies like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, bandaids, markers, paper, soccer balls, etc., but it is best for us to purchase these in bulk, so for the supplies we need money gifts. No pressure whatsoever, but if you are interested in providing supplies or supporting my trip financially, you can donate online here or mail a check to:
    •  Hands to the Plow Ministries, P.O. Box 567, Webster, Wisconsin, 54893
    • Include a separate note  that indicates you would like it to be applied to my trip or supplies.

You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many. —2 Corinthians 1:11

Grateful for you and eager to give thanks to God for all He will do through the prayers of many,

Pam
